PIE Parking (Pty) Ltd
As the founder and lead developer of PIE Parking (Pty) Ltd, I created a revolutionary, IoT-based ticketless parking system. Designed to modernize access control, the system utilizes secure QR codes and a mobile app to trigger gate controllers seamlessly. This venture involves true end-to-end engineering, spanning from mobile app architecture to designing custom PCBs and programming ESP microcontrollers for the physical gate infrastructure.
The Degasity App
I designed, developed, and currently oversee the ongoing expansion of The Degasity App, an innovative LPG gas ordering and delivery platform. Built with a Flutter/Dart frontend and a robust PHP backend, the platform is now actively used by hundreds of users and growing daily. It features complex logic including live cylinder verification, API integrations, and a tiered loyalty rewards system.
Budgee (In Development)
Currently in the pipeline is Budgee, a fully-fledged budgeting web application. Recognizing the friction in standard personal finance apps, Budgee places a special focus on the ease of importing data. By allowing users to seamlessly upload CSV files and PDF bank statements, it automates the tedious parts of financial tracking and categorisation.
AfriCamb.co.za
One of my foundational early projects, launched in 2019, is AfriCamb.co.za.
AfriCamb is a video streaming web app built to help Afrikaans homeschoolers in South Africa learn the English Cambridge Curriculum in their mother tongue, preparing the learners to confidently recall content and answer exam questions in English.
It operates as a subscription service, fully integrated with a secure PayGate payment gateway. It features a complete registry and secure login system, alongside a profile dashboard where users can manage their login details, view their active packages, and easily keep track of or cancel their subscriptions.
Lesson videos are streamed directly from AfriCamb servers to the learners' devices. Video progress is automatically stored, making it easy for users to pick up exactly where they left off. The website is designed to provide a seamless user interface, mimicking well-known experiences like YouTube or Netflix.
